Disneyland News has posted a press release regarding some new Disneyland events scheduled for this summer, as part of their Summer Nightastic including the TLT Dance Club, which is being billed by Disney as “the night when Tomorrowland Terrace emits a neon glow as local radio DJs and live bands provide tunes that your whole family will enjoy.” We already know Suburban Legends is the first band that will be performing at the TLT Dance Club on June 12 and June 13, but Disneyland News also let it leak that they would be returning July 3 and July 4 (Independance Day). Suburban Legends fans have been waiting eagerly for their performances at Disneyland this Friday and Saturday. But Suburban Legends have played at Disneyland hundreds of times, so this might end up being somewhat anticlimactic. Why? Because from what I’ve been reading on message boards and on twitter, what fans are looking forward to the most is the new lineup, and what fans are going to see on Friday and Saturday isn’t necessarily the new line up, but probably just their temporary line up. Although Personal Satisfaction is not Suburban Legends, but they have added their upcoming show date to the Tour section of Suburban Legends website. Personal Satisfaction is a blues side project that features Brian Klemm, Vince Walker, and Mike Hachey of Suburban Legends. Personal Satisfaction will be playing June 20, 2009 at 7:00pm at Marlin Bar & Grill (site down, try this link) in Huntington Beach, CA.
With Suburban Legends constantly twittering that they are holding band practice, writing songs, and working on demos, one might think they are getting ready for a hot summer tour. Well, unfortunately for fans, Suburban Legends has just tweeted that they will not be touring this summer, but instead they will be focusing on “writing the ska album & auditioning new members.” That’s understandable. Today was the preliminary hearing for Youn Bum Lee, 41, who is on trial for the death of Suburban Legends trombonist Ryan Dallas Cook. On Friday, the Suburban Legends official site news was updated by Brian Robertson announcing the preliminary hearing for Youn Bum Lee, 41, a former Hyundai executive. Lee is being charged with the hit-and-run death of Ryan Dallas Cook, one of the beloved trombone players in Suburban Legends.
SL fans and fans of justice are encouraged to attend the hearing on May 26th around 8:30 am at the Superior Court of California on 700 Civic Center Dr, Santa Ana, CA 92701. Please dress appropriately.
This hearing is to determine if there is sufficient evidence to take the case to trial or the judge could present a deal to Lee. Family, friends, and fans are trying to encourage the judge to set a trial date, rather than present a deal. Read the rest of this entry »
