Suburban Legends

Melissa Black, who is an amazing photographer, has just written up a review of the September 13th show at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA.

Based on her review of Suburban Legends, she seems to have been aware of them prior to the show, but you can tell from her tone that she is more of a Reel Big Fish fan.

Her photos from the event are great and her description of the “wild guitar battle” between Aaron Barrett and Brian Klemm is hilarious. I wish I could have seen that interaction at one of the shows as both of them are such amazing showmen.

Be sure to check out her other reviews and photos and wish her luck studying abroad.

On Friday, the Suburban Legends official site news was updated by Brian Robertson announcing the preliminary hearing for Youn Bum Lee, 41, a former Hyundai executive. Lee is being charged with the hit-and-run death of Ryan Dallas Cook, one of the beloved trombone players in Suburban Legends.

SL fans and fans of justice are encouraged to attend the hearing on May 26th around 8:30 am at the Superior Court of California on 700 Civic Center Dr, Santa Ana, CA 92701. Please dress appropriately.

This hearing is to determine if there is sufficient evidence to take the case to trial or the judge could present a deal to Lee. Family, friends, and fans are trying to encourage the judge to set a trial date, rather than present a deal. Read the rest of this entry »

Earlier this week, a rumor was posted on the Suburban Legends Forum that Luis Beza had left Suburban Legends for an unknown reason. The original poster, Evan seemed to have confirmed this by noting he no longer appeared in their top 8 on Myspace. Today during a live-tweet of Suburban Legends band meeting, more credence was given that Luis is no longer a Legend. Read the rest of this entry »

The review may be over 2 months old, but it just came across my news feed. He writes reviews for The Music Fix, a UK based music site, and his review has highlights from the show from each of the three bands that played. Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome to the Suburban Legends Fanblog

February 29, 2008

I decided to start this blog, because I was looking for a place for Suburban Legends’ fans to keep up-to-date with what’s happening with the band. I’ve been a longtime fan of the band, and I often find myself thinking about something they did “back in the day” but cannot remember when. I’m hoping that with this blog, I will be able to keep a running tab on what happened and when.

Since this is a fan blog, I don’t want to be the only one contributing to it. Please feel free to contact me with any articles you would like to write, and I will give you access to post it. I look forward to seeing the fan base grow as more people discover this amazing band. Thank you all for your support.
